Why I decided to learn Japanese in English?

Kent hall at Columbia University.

About 5 years ago, I went to Japan for a family trip, but I was not able to read any road signs, menus at a restaurant, and so on. The experience of being a total illiterate was little frustrating. Therefore, from that time, I've always wanted to memorize hiragana & katakana. However, my time did not allow me to do so due to my class schedule.

Now I can read and write in Hiragana even though I often make mistakes. I am looking forward to learning katakana in near future.

  2. Hello Erin.
I went to Japan several months ago. Although I learned a little Japanese, I still can't understand most of things. I felt frustrating too. I'm glad that we can study together. Hope you're doing great.
